Organisational Commitment

Do attitudes such as organisational commitment affect employee motivation? The ability to motivate employees is an essential skill for good managers. Recent research suggests that attitudes such as organisational commitment play a role in motivating employees to be effective and productive workers. Using research evidence from scholarly or peer reviewed journal articles (dated 2005 or later), (i) critically analyse the characteristics / elements of organisational commitment, and (ii) evaluate the consequences of organisational commitment in the context of employee motivation.
